Just a week after the tragic massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, upstanding Americans from all over the nation have donated money to organizations fighting for smarter gun laws.
The Daily Beast reports that the gun control advocacy group that was founded by former Congresswoman and gun violence victim Gabby Giffords (R-AZ) raised more than $1.2 million since the school shooting in Florida just last week.
Most impressive was that “the money came from more than 43,000 donors, with the average donation being around $27. That was on Thursday morning. More than 450,000 people have also signed the organization’s “vote courage” pledge, which encourages electoral activism around the issue of gun control. ”
People are speaking up from all over America. They know we need smarter gun laws and they’re doing something about it. The pro-school-shooting NRA is definitely scared.
