Rep. Carlos Curbelo (R-Fla.) tore apart former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) for saying a “despicable” joke about why Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg would not attend President Trump‘s first State of the Union.
Huckabee over the weekend tweeted it wasn’t fair for anyone to be criticizing Ginsburg for not attending the address.
“It’s not fair that ppl are criticizing Justice Ginsberg for skipping SOTU! Security concerns wouldn’t allow her to bring CPAP machine into House Chamber,” he ignorantly tweeted.
Curbelo, who is considered one of the most vulnerable House Republicans that is up for reelection in November, fired back later Sunday night, saying it was a “despicable” and “tasteless joke.”
“Today’s #PIPAward goes to @GovMikeHuckabee — so politically intoxicated that he would make this despicable, tasteless joke,” he angrily tweeted.
“Sober up and stop embarrassing yourself and your family. #PIP = politically intoxicated person.”

Her speech at the university was announced last August.
In 2017, Ginsburg didn’t go to Trump’s address to a joint session of Congress after attending all eight of President Obama’s addresses. Supreme Court Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas also did not go to Trump’s terrible address.
It is not out of the ordinary, however, for Supreme Court justices to skip the annual presidential addresses.
Justice Ginsburg has in the past been critical of Traitor Trump.
In 2016, she called then-candidate Trump a “faker” and said she couldn’t even imagine what the country would be like with Donald Trump as president. Trump at the time insulted her Twitter, saying her mind was “shot.”
