You all remember Sebastian Gorka, the alleged neo-Nazi and definite racist who held a high position in the White House for the majority of Donald Trump’s first year in office. He was fired when John Kelly stepped in and began attempting to give Trump the false appearance of respectability, and since that time he has mostly become irrelevant. Now Gorka has discovered a way to insert himself back into importance, if only briefly, by adding to the growing chorus of ex-Trump people who have realized how horrible he is.
To be clear, Gorka is not quite pulling a Steve Bannon here. Bannon went as far as to (very reasonably) accuse Donald Trump and his son, Donald Trump Jr, of treasonous actions toward Russia, in an infamous moment that has changed the entire national dialogue about the Trump-Russia treason scandal. Gorka is just admitting that Trump is being untruthful about something that the rest of us don’t care about, but it is important to Trump.
After Michael Wolff wrote an insider book which gave a humiliating look into the life of crazed idiot Donald Trump and his incompetent White House, Trump fired back by lying that he had never allowed Wolff any inside access, and that the entire book was faked. Trump tweeted “I authorized Zero access to White House (actually turned him down many times) for author of phony book! I never spoke to him for book. Full of lies, misrepresentations and sources that don’t exist. Look at this guy’s past and watch what happens to him and Sloppy Steve!”
Now Sebastian Gorka has written an op-ed whose supposed purpose is to discredit Wolff’s book, but he still did the opposite. Gorka admits that he was told by anonymous higher-ups that he should talk with Wolff for his book. In so doing, he is directly contradicting Trump’s lie that no insider access was given to Wolff. What is Gorka thinking going rogue like this? Who knows? He is merely the latest former Trump adviser to do so.
