Mike Pence Awkwardly Faces New Senator’s Gay Son

In a triumphant turn of events in early December, voters elected Democrat Doug Jones to a U.S. Senate seat in Alabama over the sexual predator and despicable homophobe Roy Moore. Right after the win, Jones’s son — Carson Jones — who said he “couldn’t be prouder” of his dad, confirmed to The Advocate that he is gay.

On Wednesday, Carson Jones stood side-by-side with his father as he took the Senate oath of office, which was administered by small-minded homophobe, VP Mike Pence.  Shortly after, Carson Jones, who’s username is TheDapperZookeeper on his Instagram page — which has celebratory photos of the day his father won the election, Pride photos, and a photo of him meeting Lance Bass at a gay bar — posted a picture at the oath-taking in which he looks like he’s staring pointedly at Pence.

“#nocaptionneeded” is a hashtag Carson Jones used to describe the photo.

As the governor of Indiana, Pence proved he is a bigot by signing a “license to discriminate” law (which was later amended), which would have let businesses refuse service to LGBT people, and even pushed for his state to amend its constitution to ban gay marriage.

When his father won, Carson Jones said, “I am obviously thrilled with my dad’s victory. We have been overwhelmed by the support of so many people that made this happen. Alabama made a really big statement that unity wins out. I couldn’t be prouder of him or my home state!”

Another hashtag that Carson put on the photo of the swearing-in was “#wemadeit.”
