Supporters of the president, like President Trump himself, have never been known for their mild temperament or calculated reasoning.
It should come as less of a surprise, then, to find out that Trumpers are now going online to threaten waves of violence should substantial resistance to the president materialize.
Speculation has been rising in Washington, D.C., that Congress could officially begin the process of removing President Trump from office any day now. Should that happen, certain far-right members of the president’s voter base swear that violence will follow.
One alt-right supporter of President Trump posted a public message online this past week calling other supporters to prepare themselves in case anyone tries to remove their president.
The post was created by Craig Sawyer, a conservative commentator who posted his call to arms on his Facebook page. In the post Sawyer warned that Trump’s removal could be coming soon, and he’s more than ready to violently stand against anyone opposing Trump’s presidency.
Sawyer said that he and his fellow supporters on the alt-right were “under threat.”
“ALL patriots, whether civilian, law enforcement, government, or military, have the duty to defend out Constitution against such enemies,” he said in his post, clearly referring to Democratic voters and politicians as the “enemy.”
Sawyer is reportedly a Navy veteran, and his threats grew darker as the post went on.
“There will be nowhere to run, nowhere to hide,” he wrote. “No mercy, no sense of humor. Harsh examples will be made.”
And then he took a real turn, writing what should be a criminal offense as incitement of violence.
“My prediction is it will be a gruesome massacre,” he went on. “It will likely only take a few hours. Lessons will be learned. History will take note.”
People just like this lunatic are living all around the United States. If one of them is bold enough to post something so vile and violent online, surely many of them are actually willing to take some sort of action.
What a NUT!
