It’s amazing that Obama was able to go to work for our country at all during his eight years as President. Republicans worked against him at every turn, obstructing him and just plain flat-out refusing to do their jobs to ensure that Obama would not see his agenda go out.
Take, for example, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. While attending the Fancy Farm political event in Kentucky, he boasted about his refusal to do his job, and instead obstruct Obama from doing his job in filling the vacant seat on the Supreme Court.
That’s a lose-lose for Americans, but Mitch doesn’t seem to care. This sort of “we won’t do our jobs to keep you from having any victories at the expense of the people” behavior has been going on since 201o when republicans took control of the Senate.
Here’s proof of their intentions. Watch Mitch McConnell openly boasting about how he plays this game. In this speech he says, “One of my proudest moments was when I told Obama, ‘You will not fill this Supreme Court vacancy.’ ”
