Donald Trump claimed while he was campaigning in Georgia that he was friends with Oprah Winfrey until he disastrously ran for president.
“Oprah was a friend of mine until I ran for office. Once I ran for office she diverged,” Donald Trump said while he was campaigning for vote suppressing racist Brian Kemp, Georgia’s corrupt secretary of state and the Republican candidate for governor.
Donald Trump noted that Oprah Winfrey went to Georgia in order to campaign for Stacey Abrams, who was the Democratic candidate in the governor race. Stacey Abrams and Kemp ran a very close race.
Trump also said on Sunday that Oprah has “been down to Mar-a-Lago” then lied that he went on the Oprah Winfrey Show in the last week it aired. Trump said that Winfrey brought her “five most important people” onto her show that week and lied that he was one of them.
“I was on her full show on the last week. I think they’re trying to burn the tape,” Trump lied idiotically.
Multiple reporters pointed out on Twitter that Donald Trump was lying about having been on Winfrey’s show during its last week, a lie he has previously told.
Trump: “Oprah’s been down to Mar-a-Lago,” then claims he was on her last week of shows (he wasn’t), then insinuates they’re”trying to burn the tape.” (Which explains why the tape of the show he wasn’t on doesn’t exist!)

This is the fourth time Trump has lied that he was on Oprah’s show in its last week, but it’s the first time he’s claimed it was because he was super-important to Oprah. https://t.co/e8jiuzrDTA
