Donald Trump said in a recent interview that his (easily manipulated) supporters like him a lot more thanks to his “enemy of the people” attacks on the media, a tactic often used by Hitler and Stalin.
“It’s my only form of fighting back, I couldn’t be here if I didn’t do that,” Trump told Axios in segment that was released on Thursday when he was pressed about whether he thinks some people might hear his anti-media message and become violent because of it.
Donald Trump added that his vicious attacks help the media fix “wrong” stories.
“I think I’m doing a service when people write stories about me that are so wrong,” Trump ignorantly said.
Donald Trump was also asked whether people in his administration or his family had ever asked him to use calmer rhetoric, which he partially denied.
“Not too much,” Trump replied. “Hey, I’m here! It got me here.”
The mobs at his rallies still chant “CNN sucks” even after explosive devices got sent to CNN offices by a Trump supporter in a string of attempted mail bombingsa.
The interview aired on HBO on Sunday.
