ACLU Hitting Trump for ‘Blatant’ Unconstitutionality

The amazing American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) blasted President Trump on Tuesday, calling his evil plan to end birthright citizenship rights “blatantly unconstitutional.”

“This is a blatantly unconstitutional attempt to fan the flames of anti-immigrant hatred in the days ahead of the midterms,” said the ACLU on Twitter.

“The 14th Amendment’s citizenship guarantee is clear. You can’t erase the Constitution with an executive order, @realDonaldTrump,” the ACLU concluded.

The strong statement from the organization came mere hours after Axios detailed Donald Trump’s uneducated comments about birthright citizenship.

During an interview with the media outlet, Trump said that he planned to stop the right to citizenship for all children born in America. to noncitizens, lying that “you don’t” require a constitutional amendment in order to take such a fascist step.

“You can definitely do it with an act of Congress,” Donald Trump lied during the interview, set to air on November 4th. “But now they’re saying I can do it just with an executive order.” Of course, nobody said any of that, because it’s not true and anyone with a brain understands that.

The 14th Amendment, which will overrule any fascist executive order the president chooses to sign, states that anyone “born or naturalized in the United States” will be “citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.” Donald Trump’s evil comments have gotten swift backlash from both Democratic and Republican lawmakers.

Representative Carlos Curbelo (R-Fla.) tweeted on Tuesday, “Birthright citizenship is protected by the Constitution, so no @realDonaldTrump you can’t end it by executive order.”

“What we really need is broad immigration reform that makes our country more secure and reaffirms our wonderful tradition as a nation of immigrants,” Curbelo added.
