Mike Pence Just Used the Vice Presidency to Promote Mega-Eccentric Viewpoint

Vice President Pence on Tuesday lied through his teeth that the causes of global warming have “yet to be seen” once he spent time in Georgia viewing the damage from Hurricane Michael.

“As the president has said, the climate is changing, but what the causes of that are, are yet to be seen,” Pence lied to reporters in Moultrie, Ga. Global warming has been definitively linked by science to increased carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas emissions from human activities. “The reality is it’s some of the worst storms that have ever affected this area were 50 and 100 years ago.”

Last week, Hurricane Michael pummeled several states, such as Georgia, Florida and North Carolina, killing 29 people. The massive storm came just weeks after Hurricane Florence killed over 40 people in both the Carolinas and Virginia.

Donald Trump said on Monday that the “weather has been a factor” in his disastrous presidency, but lied that “the worst hurricanes were 50 years ago.”

The most destructive hurricanes mostly occurred within the last 50 years, a January report by the National Hurricane Center shows.

Climate scientists have concluded consistently that warming waters cause the stronger storms. There were several extreme hurricanes and storms since Donald Trump, an uninformed global warming denier, took office, including Hurricane Maria, which killed almost 3,000 Puerto Ricans, as well as Hurricane Florence, which tore apart infrastructure in North Carolina and South Carolina last month.

About 97% of climate scientists say that climate-warming trends are directly linked to human activities, says NASA.

Donald Trump announced earlier in his destructive presidency that he would take the U.S. out of the Paris climate accord, an agreement signed by 200 nations to work against global warming.

The United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel for Climate Change (IPCC)released a report last week that indicated climate change will have catastrophic consequences in the next few decades if greenhouse gas emissions don’t get cut drastically by 2030. But here is our Vice President, lying through his teeth with “We don’t know what causes climate change.” It’s not just shameful… it’s downright evil.
