Report: Former GOP Official Snagged in Crime by Text Messages

A former GOP official conspired with his girlfriend in order to get a woman drunk and then take nude pictures of her when she later passed out, the Patch reported.

Lawrence Jay Weinstein, 44, and his girlfriend sent texts plotting to spike an unsuspecting woman’s wine with hard liquor, before getting her to his home, where he has installed a webcam.

“Don’t let her go to the bathroom until she gets back to your place,” Lawrence Weinstein told his girlfriend via text, the DA’s office says.

“Keep sober so you can make it happen and aren’t too drunk to win,” Weinstein texted, as his girlfriend had dinner with the woman at a Mexican restaurant.

The woman who was targeted by Weinstein and his girlfriend told investigators that she recalls the wine “didn’t taste right”. She blacked out afterwards. When the woman had passed out in the bathroom, Lawrence Weinstein told his girlfriend to, “Get her naked and get [sic] door open,” a text said, the DA’s office reported.

Police also discovered a video of him sexually assaulting a woman who was unconscious.

The Republican stepped down last month from Northampton, Pennsylvania’s supervisory board.
