Disinformation Campaign Reveals that Laura Ingraham’s Support May Not Be Real

Russian bots on Twitter are latching on to the fight between lying Fox News host Laura Ingraham and the Parkland, Fla., heroic shooting survivor David Hogg.

Hamilton 68, which is a website that tracks the Twitter accounts that are linked to Russian disinformation campaigns, found that the hashtag #IstandwithLaura increased 2,800 percent over this last weekend, reported the Chicago Tribune on Monday.

A different bot-monitoring project, Botcheck.me, has reported that “David Hogg” and “Laura Ingraham” are the top two-word phrases that are being shared by the manipulative Russia-linked Twitter accounts.

Russia-linked bot accounts usually seize on the most divisive issues in US politics. In the days following the Parkland shooting, the trending hashtags for Russian bots included things like, “#Parkland, #guncontrolnow, #Florida and #guncontrol.”

Botcheck discovered that @ingrahamangle, @davidhogg111 and @foxnews are in the top accounts referenced in tweets from the Russia-linked accounts this last weekend, reports the Tribune.

Ingraham was under fire last week because she lamely mocked Hogg on Twitter regarding his college rejections.

Ingraham quickly apologized, but not before several companies began taking away their ads from the crappy show “The Ingraham Angle.”

Hogg didn’t accept her apology, and he later doubled down on his harsh but accurate criticism of the crappy Fox News host, saying she is a “bully.”

Ingraham is currently taking a break from the show this week because of a pre-planned vacation. 16 companies have taken their ads off her show or stated they will not advertise on the show in the future.
