Gregg Popovich, the San Antonio Spurs head coach, said that Donald Trump “brings out the dark side of human beings for his own purpose.”
Popovich, a man who has criticized Traitor Trump before, said this before his team’s game with the Washington Wizards in Washington D.C. Tuesday night, reported USA Today.
He claimed that Trump “hopes to bore us to death” with distracting new issues every day, saying “we take our eye off the ball, and [Trump’s] great at it.”
“He brings out the dark side of human beings for his own purpose, which is himself. If it’s not pointed out, if people don’t stand up and point it out, he will become commonplace, and it’s not the world that I want to live in,” Popovich explained.
He then praised the student survivors of the Parkland, Florida school shooting who worked to organize the “March for Our Lives” protest in D.C. over the weekend.
“That’s why the kids that have been doing this, that had the march and everything, they give me hope that I’m actually living in the country that I thought I was living in. Because at times, it’s not where I thought I was living, but they made me believe, they give you hope for the future that they want to do the right things that have moral clarity and common sense,” the coach stated.
He also criticized stupid lying Trump for taking back his previous commitments to support gun restrictions, saying it is a “dereliction of duty on the part of everybody around Trump.”
“He’s who he is. He’s actually kind of boring because he’s done this all so much. We all know what’s coming and we know what lie’s gonna happen. That’s not very interesting. It’s pathetic,” Popovich criticized.
“But the people around him, they knew when he was a primary, they say all these things about him, they’re intelligent, but their position, their power is more important than our children and our grandchildren,” he said.
Popovich had ripped apart Trump on Sunday for not going to the anti-gun violence march, saying it was “just cowardice.” The president was being a lazy waste of space at his Mar-a-Lago property in Florida over the weekend, rather than being an actual president.
Over one million people attended March for Our Lives protests across the country Saturday.
