Fox Host Shoots Holes in Trump’s ‘Tax Scam’ Lies

The Trump administration’s despicable lies about the tax scam bill aren’t fooling anyone — including Fox News host Chris Wallace.

The Republicans have put their slim hopes for the 2018 midterms on the success of Trump’s tax scam. But even the heavily brainwashed Republican Chris Wallace, Fox News’ highest-profile news anchor, doesn’t buy it.

On “Fox News Sunday,” Wallace tore apart Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin regarding the effects of the GOP tax scam, which overwhelmingly benefits the super-wealthy.

“When the corporate tax bill was passed, you and the president promised that most of the benefits were going to go to workers,” Wallace accused. “But that’s not, in fact, what has happened so far.”

Wallace noted the actual effects of the law, noting that “so far, the tax cuts are going to shareholders. They’re not going to workers.”

“We’re only a couple of months into this,” Mnuchin whined pathetically in response. And he attempted to defend one of the law’s features as benefiting “pensions and other large investors, who then invest that capital back into companies that need the capital.”

“OK, so are you disappointed that $5 billion is going to workers and $150 billion is going to shareholders?” Wallace asked.

“It’s not — it’s not an equivalent comparison,” Mnuchin said hesitantly, rather than manning up and truthfully admitting that he is on the side of the rich, not workers.

Just as the Democrats — and many CEOs — predicted, the $1.5 trillion windfall has failed to help to create jobs or significantly increase workers’ wages.

Instead, it has benefited big corporations and the very wealthy. One company bragged about taking the extra money and using it to fund over 5,000 layoffs.

That’s why the awful Republicans were forced to give up on their tax scam propaganda during their failed attempt to keep a Republican House seat in Pennsylvania’s 18th district.

This terrible tax scam’s miserable failure leaves Republicans with nothing to advertise themselves with in 2018, and a toxic conservative figurehead in Traitor Trump to “help” them not get wiped out. But even Donald Trump himself is already making excuses for the coming losses.
